I didn't realise that we had young greenfinch around until I looked out of the kitchen window this morning. They were so sweet. My camera arrived before I went to pick up my grandson yesterday and I could have kissed the delivery driver! Oh I was so excited. I haven't used it yet although I have attached the kit lens and set the date and time but not done much else. I might have a go with it this afternoon or I might just go out for a quick walk with my bridge camera which is the one I took this pic with through the kitchen window
Great shot and can't wait to see the results of the new camera. Just take your time so you are familiar with it. Reading the manual does help despite the urge not to!!
Beautiful! Greenfinches are so lovely, especially now that their colors are not as muted anymore as they used to be during winter. Saw a couple of them today when I was visiting my dad in the hospital, as well as dozens of swallows. Had my camera and gear with me at the time, but I didn't manage to take a good shot sadly.

P.S.: What type of camera and lens have you gotten? I'm really looking forward to see the results you can achieve with it! :)
@xtrmntr2k Thanks Oliver. I've got a Nikon D7100 with kit lens 18-105mm and 70-300mm . I've had a bit of a play with it but really want to wait until tomorrow when I have the help of a professional photographer who I'm going to spend the day with. I can't wait!
@carolmw Yes I've had a play tonight but don't want to run the battery down before tomorrow as I haven't bought a spare yet although it says it can take 960 pics before it needs charging! I don't always believe statements like that though.
