Today I've had a really busy day as I had to go for a fasting blood test first thing. Despite getting to the hospital early, I had to wait an hour so by the time I got home, had my breakfast and packed my lunch, I just about made it into work at 10. However I had promised the Re-Use Centre that I would let them know whether my 90 year old client wanted the fridge as they were only going to hold it for 24hrs and they only had one there. I had called at her bungalow on the way home (well actually it's not on the way it's in the opposite direction!) to check that she wanted it as it cost £48 as I was unsuccessful at getting her a community care grant. She has agreed to pay me as I have had to pay cash up front and they will deliver it tomorrow which is a blessing as the weather is going to get even hotter on Saturday and she has already had food poisoning. I also realised that she had got the storage heater on in the bungalow so switched it off as I don't think she understands how they work and when the electrician set them up for her, he did tell her not to change the settings! It was roasting in her bungalow and no wonder she had a £1,200 electricity bill last September when I first got involved with her! I've got to be there when they deliver the fridge tomorrow morning as she is quite deaf and suspicious of people she does not know so I might have to go to work early tomorrow. Anyway, when I got home from work, I had to go to Biggleswade to do some banking and then go and do the Sainsbury's shop over at the store there which is laid out differently to the one I usually go to so it took me longer. I've just put the shopping away and thought I would sit down and watch the news so I haven't actually taken a photo today which is most unusual for me so this is a filler. It is my friend Woodie who comes to the nut feeder at least twice a day when I see him through the kitchen window
You've captured him well. A well-earned sit down for you I think! What a rewarding job. I hope you manage to get the fridge installed tomorrow. I'm sure I'll be glad of someone like you when I'm 90!
Super shot of your birdie friend !! You have had a busy day -hope if I live to be 90 Iwill have such caring person as you !! Just imagine the poor dear with her heating still on in the heat -wave !!
You're a national treasure Rosie! Where would we be without people like you? We had one of these in our garden the other day but my eyesight is quite poor when I've been reading so it was ages before I focused on him!
