The street where I live

I quickly too this one before I went to work this morning. I've had a very busy day as I had to do the shopping before I went to work, sort the fire out and get the lunches. I started work at 12 o'clock and Steve had been having a moan about the leaves again and said could I rake some up before I went to work???!!! He must have been joking! He's got a bad shoulder at the moment and fortunately hasn't got any work in so I think he's got too much time to think of these things. Anyway, when I got home at 4pm, I did go out and rake some leaves for half an hour before it got dark. Then I sorted the veg out for dinner and made a fresh fruit salad before coming through and lighting the fire which doesn't look as though it's doing too well.

Anyway, this is a view from the other side of the street. The road on the left bears round into a small cul de sac opposite our drive. The lovely tree on the right belongs to use and I thought this looked lovely when the sun was shining on it this morning which is why I rushed back in to grab my camera.

By the way, at Camera Club the other night, I was pleased that my pics did not get slated. The first one was of one of the planes that I took at Shuttleworth which the judge gave 15 marks to out of a possible 20. The person who has been helping me and who edited his photo like mad got 15 for him so without any editing, I was quite pleased. The other pic which was of one of the firemen practicing being rescued in the drain off the river at Priory got 14 because he didn't look frightened enough! The theme was motion and movement and he was coming down with the flow of the water which I thought I had captured quite well but he shouldn't have been smiling! Anyway, I was pleased with the results for a first attempt as some people were only given 11 for theirs. For a newbie, I don't think I did too bad especially as I only had about an hour to choose a pic and then someone else had to resize it for me to meet the midnight deadline. At least I know how to resize them now.
This is beautiful - and haven't you been busy today?

@padlock Unfortunately, because there are so many trees, the leaves if left, kill the grass
