Willington Lock by rosiekind

Willington Lock

This was taken a few days ago and I haven't been down to the lock since so I don't know how much more flooded it is down there. The white posts on the very far right of the picture are normally fully seen but as you can see they are underwater with only the tops showing in this pic. I suspect that they are probably totally submerged now as we've had so much more rain since I took this pic.

It has been a horrible day today - it has rained almost non stop all day so I did try to get some pics of the song thrush but she was right at the top of the tree and the light was so poor that I didn't get any decent shots as I only took my bridge camera out today anyway.

I went to what I thought was going to be a coffee morning this morning only to find that it was a mother and toddler group. However, I left some information on 5 a day and Change4Life as it seemed appropriate so I might get a call asking for help with benefits or something so it wasn't a total waste of time. The coffee morning is next week.

I'm really fed up of my colleagues who don't seem to want to cooperate by letting me know about coffee mornings they intend to go to to let people know about the surviving winter campaign which we are running. I put in a bid for £1,000 grant and managed to get £800 which has to be spent on products to keep people warm. NatWest Bank have put up the money and they want to involve their staff in helping us to make a difference to people in the community so I needed the other people I work with to let me know about the coffee mornings they are going to attend so that a couple of staff can come out with us to see where their money is being targeted. I've given up with them as one of my colleagues said that her clients (even those on benefits) can afford to buy their own products! What planet is she living on I ask!!! Some people haven't got a clue how others live although a couple of colleagues have given me the support to draw up a plan. I won't do all the hard work again to get the money as they don't deserve to have anything to offer! I'm feeling very demotivated in everything at the moment
So calm and beautiful. Bravo!

Isn't it a shame that all your colleagues are not so dedicated to their wor as you are --its hard going when you do not have full support -- best of luck !

@sabanford @beryl @khirsch Thank you for your kind comments and you are right, I shouldn't let other people get me down as at least my clients appreciate what I do for them!

Well I bet your clients are grateful. There really is a ridiculous about of water that needs to go somewhere.
