Our friendly song thrush by rosiekind

Our friendly song thrush

I've been trying to get a pic of the song thrush who wakes me up each morning with her glorious song! After several attempts over a few days, I finally got this one although it's not as good as I would have liked. It is difficult to get a shot as she is very shy and sits at the top of a tree in our garden and there are always branches in the way and she blends in so well. I took this one as I left for work this morning and it wasn't raining then. However, it's been pouring all afternoon!
The pic is a bit noisy as I had to turn the ISO up to get her as it was dark and gloomy and she didn't exactly stand out against the branches.

I put out raisins and suet pellets for the blackbirds and the thrush but Stumpy is back! I'm sure it's him although he has now grown his tail but he keeps frightening all the other blackbirds away as well as the thrush. Not to be put off, I decided this morning to put some food on another wooden stump away from the sundial in the hope that Mrs Thrush can get some nice food to keep her well fed. Last year the thrushes reared some young in the garden but one of them was killed but not eaten so I presume it was a cat. I felt like crying after all the hard work they had done so hopefully they will have a little family as I have seen 2 of them in the garden.
The detail i s lovely around the head, and it's a good pose. So sorry to hear about your troubles with stumpy.

It is a lovely shot...shows how well they blend in, and yet you have achieved lovely sharpness of detail of her.
