The Hoopoe's still here

I walked along Wood Lane this morning specifically to get a shot of him with his topknot up and he kindly obliged but only for a second! I'm off to the hairdressers this afternoon so will catch up later.

The hoopoe surely isn't a native of the UK, is it? Are they migratory or was it lost, do you think? An amazing shot!

@fayefaye @pittcj17 @karlow75 @beryl @snowy @janturnbull Thanks Hoopoes are not native to Britain and in fact they usually live in Southern Spain and N Africa. They go to France in spring to breed but this little fellow is definitely off course! Nice for us though but I hope he finds his way home because he will suffer when it gets any colder and may not survive
