Mobbing the buzzard by rosiekind

Mobbing the buzzard

Initially there were 5 crows mobbing the buzzard presumably because they considered that he was on "their" patch. I saw them as I was walking along Wood Lane. This is the second time I've seen this happen down there. I'm glad I went for my walk this morning as there was a nice blue sky whereas this afternoon it has turned very grey. I have been out to lunch with my friends. We met over 30 years ago when we went to college to do English Literature 'O' level and we have remained friends ever since. The other 4 are older than me and in fact Jean celebrated her 70th birthday last year but they don't seem any older.

Of the several shots I took of these birds, Steve thought this was the best one and I must admit I'm surprised that they all look in focus.

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend and manages to survive the wind and storms which are hitting the UK at the moment. Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs.
Wow Rosie what a fabulous capture!! I have seen this and got a shot of some crows mobbing a red kite earlier this year. Love that they are all in focus and the lovely blue sky is a bonus!! Fav!!

Well captured. The crows around here mob any raptor including our resident Peregrine Falcon and the really big Buzzards.

Cool sight - we saw golden eagles having a go at sea eagles in Mull and the crows having a go at golden eagles - the most intelligent apparently.

Great capture Rosie. That weather out there is mad isn't it? Blowing a gale but 14 degrees at the moment!

Not an easy shot to do and you've retained detail in the plumage despite the movement and the backlighting... excellent!

Awesome catch of the crows chasing that hawk. The mockingbirds do the same here and it's so fun to watch.
