It's amazing how a big bird like a heron can stand on such a spindly leg! I only intended going to Priory for a short walk and Mr Heron must have known because he was standing in a tree overlooking the brook before I got into the park so I didn't need to go any further. I wanted to make sure that I got to the market in Kempston to get some bird food before I went to Sainsbury's and sometimes when it's cold the pet food man finishes early. Today I managed to get some quick photos and get the bird food so it was a bonus!

Great shot of the heron. They are such large birds and look intimidating. I happened to catch one standing on one leg as well. You have to wonder how they can keep their balance. It's creepy when you upload your pictures to see that it is staring directly at you (which is the one I posted last summer - or was it the summer before? Time flies on 365).
I want some nice Heron shots like this, I am going to have to put it near the top of my to do list.
