I have been to Bedford Park today to get some photos to put in my AV for the Camera Club. I have to make something lasting between 1 and 5 minutes and I can choose my own soundtrack but it has to be based upon Bedford Park and the surrounding area. Last week when I met up with others from the group we went into the Cemetery next to the park but I have chosen "Park Life" by Blur as my soundtrack and some of the words say about all the people holding hands so I asked this couple if they would mind me taking some shots of them. They said that they don't usually hold hands but they were today which was a bit of luck for me. They were very nice and we had a long chat as the gentleman attends a Cardiac Recovery program nearby and I used to work at Papworth, the world renowned heart hospital and funnily enough I must have been working there when he had his operation.
I chatted to several people in the park including a lady who was with her husband and he has dementia so he kept asking whether they were "going to walk that way" and kept saying hello to me. I think she was glad just to have a chat with someone. It has been a really nice day and so a walk in the park was lovely.
Late posting tonight as I took so many photos but think I might have a problem with one of my memory cards so will need to check through them. Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciatedl.
It was nice to hear that you had the time to chat with these groups of peoplel! That man will be walking for his heart and good for him! Wish I could get hubby to walk!
Whho says senior citizens can't hold hands. Our daughter in law acted surprised a year or two ago when we were on a family cruise to see John and me walking hand in hand......
Lovely capture of these older couple holding hands in the park. I don't know whether I've mention it but my Fathers first wife is in the cemetery next to that park, she died in 1935 of TB only a few years after they married.
@ladymagpie Oh I probably passed her grave when I was there with the camera club. Isn't life strange how an online project like 365 can inform other people about things that have happened many years ago. I do love this site and we are a real (although virtual) community.
