It is just so windy today and last night I couldn't get to sleep as the wind howled around our cottage. Next door's trees that overshadow our house sounded as though they were going to come through the roof! So far I haven't been out today although I shall have to drive to our local farm shop to get a nice rib of beef for Sunday's dinner. They have some lovely meat, eggs, etc. and although it's a bit pricey, it always tastes so good and you can see the animals in the fields so you know that they are definitely free range.
This chaffinch sat briefly trying to get his breath back in the silver birch tree in the back garden so as I often do, I took this through the rather dirty kitchen window. Best on black if you have the time.
Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs - it is always much appreciated.
Love this! I've rarely been able to catch one of these fleeting birds so I know the level of difficulty in getting a shot like this is high. Nicely done! Fav!
Super shot, he really stands out when viewed on black. Fav! We'll have to do another walk around Paxton Lakes. I thought that when I was there yesterday.
The window doesn't seem to have caused much of a problem. The chaffinch looks stunning. Birds at Priory today were being blown around quite a lot although I think the ducks were enjoying the waves on the lake. hope you get sleep tonight Rosie.
@momarge64 A lot of them are taken in my garden although I take shots along Wood Lane which is just over the road from where I live. I do have 13 feeders and 2 bird tables in the garden so I expect that is why I am lucky enough to get so many lovely birds
