I took this opportunity to get a shot of Mrs Blue Tit when she left the nest box to have a bite to eat. She looks far nicer in this shot than the nest box captures but the camera is obviously not so good in there and it didn't cost as much!! LOL I'm glad she managed to get out for a little while. I have the video switched on all the time (although not actually recording) so that I can see when she is in and when she's out. She shuffles about when she comes back in to get herself comfortable and also to turn the eggs. It is so lovely watching her but the nest box camera doesn't capture the colour properly. It's amazing to think that this little bird who is very small can have 8 tiny eggs to look after. It is quite deceiving when you see her in the box because she looks so much bigger. Best on black if you have the time.
Thanks for all your kind comments and Favs and for getting yesterday's nest box collage on PP. Although it's not good quality, it is nice to have a record of her nest box activities.
I wish we had these lovely birds. Someday i hope to see one in person. It's on my list after finally seeing a European Robin in Sweden, now on to this sweetie.
Lovely shot Rosie, nice bright colours. Eight might seem a lot of eggs, but a normal clutch is 7-12 and I am sure up to 16 eggs from one clutch has been recorded. Thats a lot of little mouths to keep full.
Love the capture, great composition Fav.
