The Titanic set sail from Southampton on 10 April 1912. This memorial to the engineers on the Titanic was unveiled two years later. It pays tribute to Joseph Bell, the Chief Engineering Officer, and his team of 34 men who were part of the 1523 lives lost.
More than 500 Southampton households lost a family member, and around 100,000 people came to the city to witness the unveiling.
