I like Bill Bryson too but prefer his travel ones especially the one about Britain, title just slipped my mind !

Ditto that. It was very funny! I'll never forget the crazy scientist that experimented on his poor wife, then right after she got out of the gas chamber, expected her to cook dinner! LOL!
