Get Pushed Challenge: I have been doing this challenge on and off...
Great edit, beautiful capture, well done on the colour replacement,, I often find myself fiddling around hairs and can't see any problems with your image - fav
@leonbuys83 Leon I did drive myself round the bend with the hairs! I tried so many different brushes but couldn't really find one that I liked, eventually I just stuck with a straight forward round brush that was super small. Very time consuming.
**Stellar**! I LOVE this Sally! What a grand idea, and *the perfect* subject! Now all I want to know is, do you see zebras in the wild there? They're so beautiful! It would be an amazing sight to be sure!
Wow great job..............love your processing in b&w!!
I'm still struggling with changing the sky, hopefully I will have time this weekend to try again!
Which method did you use to change the background Sally?

I really like the pose, and it looks different but good on the black background. I have done this on white before with a zebra, but this is so much different!
@radiogirl hi Kathy, I cropped the original added a new layer, filled it with black, added a layer mask to bring out the zebra. The mane was rather finicky. Merged the layers and converted to b&w. So far I have found this the easiest method for me but I do have a link to a tutorial doing it differently which I want to try. I can post the link if you'd like it.
@salza thank you for the explanation will give it a try, very similiar to our multiplicity assignment. Sure post the link for the other method if you have time.
@Weezilou Louise, this zebra was in Kruger National Park but there are at least 5 farms in the valley where I live that have zebra living on them. One of the farms we go horse riding through has a pair of zebra. Some of the horses don't like them but the zebra are very curious about the horses!
@salza Wow! Fascinating! That's like my "first safari" lesson...something I never knew! I might have thought they would *all* either be curious or keep their distance...quite interesting! (All this time I just thought of zebra as "wild horses with stripes"!)
@Weezilou one of the farms actually has a zebra living with two horses. The zebra was ousted from the herd as a youngster so they put him in with the horses (supposed to be temporary but that was about 4 years ago!). I think I have a picture somewhere in my albums. I shall search it out and post the link for you.
@salza Thank you! Actually, Ken and I are taking the boys to the Santa Barbara zoo (north of Los Angeles) tomorrow morning. I'm not altogether sure that they have zebras there, but I'll certainly enjoy others of Africa's wonderful animals!
@Weezilou the zoo should be a great place to get some photos. We don't have a zoo anywhere nearby but we do have a number of game parks. Here's the link to the picture of the horse and zebra - http://365project.org/salza/365/2013-08-19
