Get Pushed Challenge: I have been doing this challenge on and off...
@shepherdmanswife it is always difficult when one of the fur kids crosses the rainbow bridge. Our first German Shepherd (Jerry-Lee) and Kaela look similar and I still miss her sometimes when I look at Kaela. Jerry left us in 2005, over 5 years before Kaela was born!
He's so much more full-coated than the German Shepherds we're used to around here (when we see them anymore!) Once so popular, they seem more scarce out here in CA. Kaela,s a beauty, and so attentive to your command to hold still!
@Weezilou Louise, Kaela is a long coat German Shepherd, which makes her look so fluffy. The normal or standard coat GSDs have a much flatter coat, no fluffy bits around the ears and no feathering on the legs. Many long coats (or fluffies) have no undercoat which means that they don't shed as much as the normal coats. Still needs regular brushing though, which she doesn't enjoy but tolerates!
@Weezilou I will have a look through my old photos and post pictures showing the difference in the coats. I have owned normal coated GSDs and have some pictures with both fluffy and normal coat GSDs.
Great shot!
