Reflected Smoky Sunset by salza

Reflected Smoky Sunset

The sun looked amazing as it sank behind the mountains on the west side of the valley. Sadly there is a large bush fire raging in the mountains on eastern side of the valley. The smoke gives a great colour to the setting sun. This is the sunset reflected on my kitchen window

That fire is still going - we will see the smoke from NZ soon!! Nice framing of the sunset and obviously out of your kitchen window!

@maggiemae I went out onto the road to get some pics of the red sun as it set. I turned around to see this reflection on the window so just had to snap it!

Of the two postings I prefer this one. The reflection captures the scene beautifully and there is interest and freshness added by the natural framing of the wall. Praise be to all firefighters.

This is a beautiful capture with lots of interest. Hopefully the bush fires can be controlled quickly.

Nothing like a good bushfire to make a person nervous. Is it early in the season there for fires to be underway?

What a great reflection!

@scotthouston we are right in the midst of fire season. The wind seems to have died down overnight so hopefully the fire is now under control, it is still burning. With temperatures in the high 30s low 40s forecast there's high fire danger warnings given on the radio and TV

@salza I can imagine everyone there is very twitchy; stay safe.
