I found this old pohutakawa tree in the Mission cemetery yesterday where I am researching for my guide training at The Elms Tauranga, a heritage site.
Behind this beautiful tree was a tent, with laundry out on it's stays. It is not unusual to find at least one homeless shelter of people in transition in places most people don't visit.
The shadows late morning filled the dry ground with hope.
