The beginning of a 9-day hike to St Arnaud. The first day was walking alongside the Pelorus River heading to the Richmond Range. Middy Hut was the first South Island hut, set in a beautiful clearing with goats grazing happily nearby. This was 7 Dec 2021, Day 57, 13 km easy walking.
