I enjoy watching the life of flowers as they pop out of their buds and fully open. The buds of the kaka beak or 'ngutukākā' open and fade over two weeks. Just before the flowers fade to an old red/purple colour and fall off the top petal lifts up and shows off.
The leaves are variegated due to the roof spray drift.
