This week-end there was a Chocolate Festival in Hamrun. My wife and I together with my brother, sister and their spouses went to see what was going on. We weren’t alone because there were hordes of people who filled every corner of the festival area. There were stalls set up in a number of streets selling eatables, all containing chocolate (including ravioli – one of my favourate foods), cake competitions also with chocolate coverings – some of them very ornate. Amont the other exhibits there was also a 2metre big Ford 1931 model completely made of chocolate made by local chefs which was very beautiful and a true copy of the real thing which was next to it.
At a point in time there was a re-enactment of an event during the period of the Knights of St John with the Grand Master, Perellos, receiving homage from flag bearers representing the 8 langues of the Order. At the end, soldiers of the Order fired a salute with their old-time muskets.
Took several pictures, this one is not the best but it captures the exact time when the muskets were fired.
@morrisroos Thanks Don for your nice comments. It's my pleasure to add some information because I think that every picture has a story behind it. Besides, while passing information to others, it helps to keep oneself informed too.
