I discovered this very old door on a very old house front in a small very old alleyway in the very old capital of Malta, Mdina and thought it would fit well with this week’s (not very old) theme. The scene is slightly spoilt by the modern padlock that has been used to keep the door shut instead of the romantic old key - would have been a big one like those we see in fairy tales. Behind the iron grill on the door is a small window to peek out when the door knocks. If this door were able to talk I coujld sit down on a boulder for ages to hear it talk of its experiences throughout its existance.
To the picture I have just added some framing. Have tried to find some information on the house but regret to say found none. There are many other old house in Mdina – some in exceptional good condition.
Thank you all so very for looking and for your nice comments on yesterday’s posting.
@vernabeth Thanks for your comments. Could the guy from Malta be Charles Mallia - if yes, know him well; he is related to my son's wife. My son JP Giorgio and son-in-law, Ian Busuttil, also participate on 365
