The prisoner number of the convicts are on their backs. Prisoner No 9943 is serving a life sentence on hard labour. She was convicted for saying ‘Yes, I will’ on the altar when she married the undersigned haha. Joking apart being married to the same person for a lifetime is tough but it is great and so satisfying when you can share together all the ups and down of life and with blindfolded sincerety and faith in each other.
To continue on yesterday’s series, took this picture at Ghajn Tuffieha. When we reached the end of the footpath we found a secluded piece of concrete and sat to have some coffee and some cake which we had carried with us. I took this shot whilst the others (except my eldest brother who was sitting by my side behind the rest) were having a hot discussion. Vivienne is on her way to offer us cake.
From left to right are: my brother-in-law, Joe; my sister Mary Grace (Joe’s wife); my eldest brother’s wife, Mary Rose; Christine, my wife, our friend, Mary; Mary’s husband, Charles; another friend, Joe; and his wife, Vivienne. Up to the 50’s or early 60’s it was customary in Malta to name at least one child Mary or Joe or their derivatives. Charles which is the English version for Carmel was a very common name too. Nowadays they choose the craziest names to name babies.
Thanks for looking at my pictures and for your nice comments on yesterday’s.
How nice that all these families member can travel together. When I looked at this magnified, I saw you weren't kidding about numbers on the back. LOL.
