My sister had her birthday yesterday, on Mother’s Day. Being a milestone birthday, her husband surprised her on Saturday night by a lovely dinner at a favourite restaurant where all her closest family where present. One of their 2 sons even came from Eire where he is following a doctorate course in computer science for the occasion. We waited for her at the restaurant and surprised her with a big ‘happy birthday’. We had a great time, good food and plenty of wine.
Our family has been a very closely knitted one while my parents were alive and we became bonded to each other more after their death.
This is the family at dinner. From left to right: my brothers – Joe ( the eldest) John and Tony. Then comes Mary Grace, my only sister. The lady standing up and the guy next to her are my sister’s son and his wife (their two kids are hidden behind Mary Grace), next are my sister’s second son and his girlfriend, and my brother-in-law, Joe. The remaining 4 are my brothers’ wives and my wife who is second from right.
Yesterday, Mother’s Day Jean-Pierre, Denise and their spouses for lunch. We had a great time too but no pictures to remember the occasion.
Thanks for looking and for your comments on yesterday’s picture. I had such a great laugh reading your various comments on it.
Nothingr like being surrounded by so many members of your family, a day like this will be remembered and talked about for a long time! A photo to be treasured!,
