A final shot from this series. I felt so awkward taking this shot because of the people who were very close to me. Here is part of the congregation following the statue of Christ the Redeemer along the route. The statue itself is some 50 metres behind my back. During the walk loud speakers distributed along the road orate appropriate prayers which the crowd follows and joins. There are some of the people who choose to walk barefoot behind the statue as a thanksgiving to graces received through Christ in this representation. Graces are normally attributable to health, such as the successful end to a difficult pregnancy, recovery after serious traffic accidents, favourable diagnosis of a suspected illness or anything else under the sun. The important thing is the believers faith in the healing powers of Our Lord Jesus.
I am very grateful for your lovely comments. They sure give me a lot of encouragement on this project.
