Took this shot on our way to a local restaurant for a pizza. This is one of the narrow streets in Xaghra, Gozo. Dominating the skyline is the dome of the Xaghra basilica.
Ix-Xagħra is the second-largest village in Gozo after Nadur. It is probably the earliest inhabited part of Gozo and is the home of the Ggantija neolithic temples which date from as far back as 3500 BC - I have been to see these temples many years ago and it is now about time I visit them again. It is also the home of the Xaghra Stone Circle which is an underground funerary complex from the same period. The most notable discoveries from excavations carried out include more than 200,000 human body parts and prehistoric art relating to the builders of the prehistoric Maltese temples.
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday's picture.
