I took this shot a few days ago when we were in Valletta – same day as yesterday’s picture. I decided to post it today because of the peaceful feel of the square, St George’s Square, right in front of the Presidential Palace. The people on the bench seem to be enjoying some peace and relaxation away from the hustle and bustle of the shopping frenzy which takes place every year during this period. And this is what I wish to my dear 365 friends peace, first of all, in your hearts and with yourselves and also peace in your country and amongst nations. I also wish everybody health and love throughout the new year.
Since there is no celebration in Malta without fireworks I have added fireworks on the right hand upper corner to celebrate the start of a New year.
Last night we dined out to welcome the new year. Left the camera at home for a rest. We had a great time, good food, wine, good music together with some dancing including the Gangman Psy (hope I got that right), lovely company. Hope everyone had a good time too.
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments on my yesterday’s picture.
Great shot Dad! Like the composition and love the fireworks too! I spent New Year's Eve in this square last night, and indeed we had firewroks to celebrate the new year! :)
Happy New Year, a bit late, but the sentiment is the same!! Great photo, and sounds like a great celebration! I am behind on 365 again, so just commenting here and there, but looking at each of your photos!
