Windmills. We had many of these when I was young. They were gradually all replaced by diesel-powered pumps. Now, due the heftic rise in fuel prices, some of them have been restored for use. These are probably two of them.
Yesterday was the feast of Our Lady of Sorrows, which happens exactly a week before Good Friday. Many parishes around Malta organise Walks of Faith with the statue of the Virgin. Thousands of people make it a point to attend. Christine and I went to that organised by the San Gwann parish. I didn't think the camera was in place for taking pictures at such a solemn ceremony.
Many thanks for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday's picture.
Tomorrow the story of Jeff and Nick continues.
Very nice capture of the windmills. Interesting how people are using them again. And yes, eventhough I would had loved to see tiger procession, it was not proper to take the camera.
Great shapes and nicely processed too.
We either have our lovely old windmills, mostly defunct, or those whopping great wind turbine things which are very unloved.
A nice capture of those mills and great the get back at work.
In our country we do also but mainly because a windmill that does n`t work get quick/soon into disrepair
