This is St George’s Square, right in front of St George’s Basilica in Rabat, Gozo. Took the shot from the church parvis - only 4 or 5 steps to climb here, Richard. Christine is on the far right, dressed in red.
In front of the archaded building in the centre, they are erecting a band stand in anticipation of the festa. In the summer months, there are festas everywhere in Malta, each parish and its community celebrating their local patron saint and making merry with lots of beer and wine.
