Location: The beach below the Valletta bastions (May, 2012).
Nick: “Thank goodness, there you are, Dione!! What the hell are you doing in this secluded area of the beach?”
Dione: “Oh, hello, little one. What’s up? I was absorbed in thought. Was looking for some inspiration on what to write next about you two!”
Nick: “Don’t tell me, Dione!!!!! We don’t want to be in the limelight again. I have been searching for you all over the island. I need your help, and that’s very urgent.”
Dione: “Tell me, what’s so urgent? In what can I help you?”
Nick: “It’s Jeff, he’s going bonkers, and I mean, really bonkers. All he does is think about death.”
Dione: “That could be an inspiration for my new series on you two.”
Nick: “I’m sure you’re not that cruel, Dione. I need to take Jeff to see a psychiatrist, and who would be the person I could take him to if not Jean-Pierre. Can you help me get an immediate appointment to see him?
Dione: “I’ll try, Nick. But JP treats humans not animals. Why not go to a vet?
Nick: “Jeff said he prefers to die than go to a vet.”
Dione: “Not sure I can succeed, JP’s so busy lately – doesn’t even have time anymore for 365. Let’s try.”
Dione on the mob: “Hi, JP. Have been trying to reach you for the last 15 minutes. I need you to see a common friend urgently. Can you help?”
JP: “Very busy, dad, but for you I’ll do it. Tell the guy to phone up the clinic on this number and tell them that I told him to fix an immediate appointment. Will see him there.” Click – silence!
Dione to Nick: “You see, Nick, he didn’t even give me time to tell him who the patient is. Well, heck, let’s phone the clinic.”
To be continued.
Thank you all very much for your lovely comments on yesterday's picture.
This is a lovely piece of work, Dione. Fav.
