LJUBLJANA (4) – LOVE LOCKS

Please view large if you have time.
20th August. Seems that the craze for couples to lock a padlock on some railings as a sign of their love for each other has been taken up everywhere. I saw all these padlocks locked on the railing of Butcher’s Bridge in Ljubljana and liked their reflection on the wet ground.
Tomorrow: Jeff and Nick – On the run.
Thank you very much for looking and for your wonderful comments on yesterday’s picture.
This something you will never see any where else.

Great shot Dione, it seems to be a European custom, lots in Paris & Rome. There are a few in Sydney, cannot remember where, and I think there were signs that they had to be removed.

Interesting shot and custom. I don't know if it's made its way over here yet but I expect it will.

I remember seeing this fad in a shot from a fellow in Italy. It's an interesting way to symbolize your commitment but I don't think the city is happy about it. Still, makes for a good shot!

My daughter photographed them in Amsterdam too earlier this year, very interesting concept, I wonder where it originated. No doubt in a film.
