21st August. Our first stop for the day was this very cute city, situated in the Italian Alps region, which is known for its production of Lavander. A week before we went there it had celebrated the feast of the lavender and the shops were all decorated with lavender and purple colours.
In this shot, Christine posed for me on a seat decorated in purple colours.
Venzone was almost entirely destroyed by the earthquake that struck Friuli in 1976, and was rebuilt in the following year. The reconstruction was finished in 1990, with the cathedral church.
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday’s picture.
