Best viewed large. Sorry for posting a second collage in a row.
21st August. Our second stop for the day was to board the cable car to the top of Monte Lussari – a 15 minute climb. Poor Christine – she is so scared when she goes on one of them and yet she does it for me because, even though I get a bit frightened of the height, I enjoy the thrill.
At the bottom left are the Julian Alps, a photo I took from the coach while on the road to the cable car base. Top left shows Christine’s preoccupation while travelling on the cable car. The two other shots show part of the climb.
As regard the Julian Alps, they are named after Julius Caesar who founded the municipium of Cividale del Friuli under which municipium the area fell. A large part of the Julian Alps are today found in the Triglav National Park, Slovenia.
Thank you very much for looking and for your wonderful comments and fav's on yesterday's picture.
What a great collage really gives the feeling of climbing in a cable car which I love to do, my husband doesn't like heights and will only do it in order to get to the top of a mountain so he can ski down!!
Congrats to Christine for her bravery!!!! I don't really like those things either but it doesn't stop me from going on them! I just try & take in the view and forget where I am.......easier said than done!! We went on one in London....scary stuff!! We also went on one near Cairns in Qld and every time we went through a stanchion the cabin moved sideways and made a noise!!! Really scary stuff!
I understand how Christine feels!! Riding in cable cars is not high on my list of things I must do- but I remind myself that it's the easiest way to get to the top and there are always some beautiful pictures to take during the climb! Nice collage!
