23rd August was the most spectacular and exciting day of our vacation in Slovenia. We started out early to visit Vintgar Gorge, not very far from our lodging in Bled. Once there, we had to walk along a narrow passage, which runs along the Radovna river to the sound of the water thrashing loudly against its rocky confines.. Along the trail, which runs through the 1600 m long gorge, the Radovna flows over cascades and rapids, and it finds peace for a few moments in clear pools before continuing down its natural trail. The Vintgar gorge ends at the delightful Šum waterfall, the highest river fall in Slovenia.
I took many, many pictures here, stopping very often to capture the changing scenes, immune to having been left behind very often by the others in the group. In fact, I didn’t see Christine again before we arrived at the Šum waterfall. More shots tomorrow.
Thank you very much for your wonderful comments on yesterday,s shot.
What an amazing place and you have captured it so well in your images. I like the inclusion of the people in some shots which gives scale. An impressive place.
What a great collage to capture what it felt like to be there. Each is beautiful in its own right but together they really help me feel like I've been to the area.
