Best viewed enlarged, thank you. Yet, another collage, sorry for that but if I were to post all this shots each one on its own, it would take me ages to finish the series. Besides I do not like posting portrait-size pictures.
Carnival companies are normally made up of 2 teams -the team that builds and decorates the float and a team of dancers and the costume makers. Competitions are held for all categories of floats, for the best costumes and for the best dancing performance. I took the shots on the left when we stopped some minutes on the other side of the road leading to St George’s Square where stalls are erected for paying viewers. The dance floor is wet as it had been slightly raining around half an hour previously – our first thought it was going to disrupt the festivity. We didn’t stay long here as we had to attend for a Saturday mass in a Valletta church.
In the bigger shot, the young lady waits for her company’s turn to go out on the dancing floor. She must have received a communication from a male friend – you can see his picture on the mobile screen if you enlarge.
Thank you very much for looking, for your wonderful comments and for your fav’s.
Great color and energy, Dione. The collage is terrific. It's so much fun to take a peek at what's happening in your part of the world. Thanks for posting!
