Shot taken on our walk at the Chadwick Lakes. There is such a lovely walk along this beautiful and peaceful valley where you may meet not a single person during your walk – at least on weekdays.
Chadwick Lakes is a series of dams designed by Osbert Chadwick in the 1890’s along Wied il-Qlejgha to keep water from rushing straight to the sea. Wied (meaning valley) il-Qlejgha is a main waterway which carries water from Rabat to Burmarrad and then the sea. The water retained in the ‘lakes’ helps farmers to irrigate their fields during the dry season.
Thank you so much for looking and for your wonderful comments on yesterday's picture.
