Took this shot through 2 arches of an old uninhabitated building.
This is Villa Rosa on the crest of a hill overlooking St George’s Bay. I have tried to find some information on this Villa but was unsuccessful. However, it is said that a man built it for the love of his life, Rosa – I don’t know if she was his wife or lover. In my youth, this villa was surrounded by huge grounds full of trees and bushes and was very often leased for wedding receptions. In fact, Christine and I had leased it for our own wedding reception but just one month before the wedding day a big storm caused many damages to the villa and we were kindly asked to find someplace else. Thankfully we were still in time as the invitations had not yet been printed. Today, although the villa still stands like it was then, most of the grounds have been given out for development, including a hotel. As far as I know, it is part of the hotel complex and is no longer available for weddings.
Yesterday, JP (my son), Ian (my son-in-law) and I organised a walk on a photo taking expedition. I consider JP and Ian much better photographers than I am. They both have been on 365 and while JP still posts pictures whenever he has some free time, Ian has given up completely. We had a great time and took many shots. I will show some as soon as I load them on the computer and have had a look at them myself.
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday’s picture.
great shot - really like the way you framed the shot! Thanks for the compliment although I am still an amateur! Now I better be off to continue the report I am supposed to be working on...on a sunny public holiday! Well done Dad! :)
