FLOWER POT ON A WINDOW SILL

Final set of fillers before I start showing shots from my I Abruzzo collection from our Easter holiday.

In olden days people who had a daughter of marriageable age would put a flowerpot in the window to indicate they were prepared to accept pretenders. A go-between would be asked by the interested male to make advances for the girl and if his suite is accepted then the two would be bethroded.

This is what this flower pot below this lovely louvred window reminded me. The window if part of a renovated old house in Sliema
Lovely tradition, and great capture!
