This is the façade of Msida Parish Church as decorated for its festa. Shot taken from across the yacht marina.
Last Sunday it was the turn of the parish of Our Lady of Carmel in Gzira (boundary with Sliema) to celebrate its annual festa. Today it is the turn of Msida (boundary with Gzira) to celebrate its festa. And they do it in a grand way. The parish is dedicated to St Joseph.
I have already posted a shot of this church 2 or 3 years ago. But, Friday last, I decided to go and get some new shots. After negotiations with Christine (my wife) who prefered to go and meet friends on the Sliema promenade, we reached a compromise to go there before returning home. So I was in Msida at around 11.15 pm. And it was all very worth the short journey and staying out later than usual. I will show you a few more shots in the coming days.
Next Sunday is the festa of Our Lady of Carmel Parish Church of Balluta, Sliema. That would be very close to where we go so I will have a weekend full with shooting.
This weekend there is an Arts Festival at Independence Garden, Sliema and I have taken many shots of the occasion, too. Will also show some, later.
Tour de France: yesterday’s stage was very worth viewing, if not for the race for the marvellous scenery. Nibali still shows he is the the one worthy to be leader.
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments and the fav’s. I feel flattered by them all.
Fantastic Dione. We walked passed it each night as we headed towards Mama Mia's for dinner. We also attended Mass at this church whilst there. Such wonderful memories!!
