THE CROWD

These are 3 shots of the crowd before the start of the match. Top is a general view from where we were seated. It wasn’t an ideal place to watch the match and we could have seen it better on tv but the atmosphere was worth the attendace. The stadium which can take around 20,000 persons (seated) – a good size for a population of around 400,000 and with little attendance except on a day like that – was fully booked when we decided to get the tickets. The picture on the left shows part of the Maltese supporters; on the right is the area where Italian supporters were, very close to our position.

I have been blessed to attend both a World Cup match and an Olympic match and both times the crowds were just electric and the atmosphere so exciting. I'm sure this was a great match and probably quite a rivalry! Great collage!
