This is two different shots of the same ship merged into one picture.
Ok; time to come back home after a lovely week-end in Gozo. Everything is packed in the car booth and we are on the way to catch the ferry from Mġarr Terminal. Before we knew it we were in the queue to pay the fare when I saw this beautiful ship anchored outside the harbour - Mġarr, with the ferry terminal, yacht marina and berths for the fishermen’s boats, is not big enough to take in ships like this so tourists have to be taken to land by boat. A ship like this is not a common sight and I was in a frenzy to take some shots of it, all the time afraid that it would raise anchor and leave before I could get to it. So, as soon as I parked in the queue to board the ferry I just got out of the car, left Christine on her own and dashed to the breakwater from where I could to take my shots. I couldn’t find a way how to get on there and had to run back almost to the paying kiosks before I could get through an opening in the wire mesh. I didn’t even consider that if the ferry started loading I would be in a quandary (Christine doesn’t drive my Ford Focus). I took some shots even though the wall was too high for me and raced back in time to be ready for boarding. When we boarded the ferry the ship was still there but had just started to move away gradually. Even so, I managed to take many more shots of it. I was happy that notwithstanding the movement of the ship, that I had no tripod (I very rarely use that) and that it was night time I got really good shots of it.
I captured the shot on the left from on top the breakwater while I took the shot on the right from the Gozo Channel ferry.
Many thanks for looking and for the lovely comments on yesterday’s picture.
Great shots and collage. Did get a week ago a power point with a film of the biggest cruise ship to day , Oasis of the seas. . Has nothing to do with sailing. Looks more like a big floated city.
Glad you enjoyed
