VILLA ROSA by sangwann

VILLA ROSA

My 365 friend, Mailyn ( http://365project.org/mittens) has challenged me to post landscape shots consecutively for the next three days – the shots do not have to be current. I haven’t gone out yet so my first post will be this shot I took some weeks ago at St George’s Bay.
This is Villa Rosa built overlooking St George’s Bay which was booked for my wedding reception 43 years ago. At the time the buildings behind the villa did not exist. I was going to remove the wire lines but I thought otherwise as they seem to frame the picture. A few weeks before the invitations were ready we received a phone call by the villa’s manager to go and see for ourselves. A storm from the previous day had caused a lot of damage to the villa and its grounds and they would not be made ready for the wedding so we had to frantically search for another venue, reword the invitations, ect. Luckily we had everything ready on time.

This villa has been there eversince I can remember – from what I know it was built my some rich person for his wife (or lover), Rosa. I have tried to find further information on the internet about its history but my efforts have not been successful.

Joke: At the cocktail party, one woman said to another, 'Aren't you wearing your wedding ring on the wrong finger?' The other replied, 'Yes, I am, I married the wrong man.'
Thank you so much for looking and for the lovely comments and the fav's on yesterday's picture.
Neat shot and interesting story - must've been a scramble to get everyone to the correct venue!

Very nice shot with lots to look at. I like how the electric lines and
pole seem to frame it.

Love that impressive villa set high on a hill among all that lush greenery. You are right....the wires & the pole work well to frame the scene. Fun joke!!

i may have cropped the wires out dione, that way the villa fills the frame better and provides a better view for us

Nice shot- I tend to agree with Phil though. I would have cloned out the wires.

@ceilidh @olivetreeann @phil_howcroft that was an option I considered - in fact I cloned out a few wires - but finally I decided to leave these as they seemed to frame the view. Thanks for your comments and critique.
