Maundy Thursday: Christine and I left early (around 10.00am) to catch the ferry to Gozo. Denise (my daughter), her husband and son came in the afternoon and Jean-Pierre (my son), his wife and daughter came on Saturday. This is the queue we found while waiting for the ferry. But we made it on the first trip.
The Gozo Ferries that runs the service has three similar ships and each can take up to around 200 cars. Normally they run on a fixed 24x7 schedule but when traffic is heavier than normal they provide a shuttle service. I think they are very efficient. Because of the long week-end many Maltese decided to spend Easter in Gozo.
Joke: The overbearing and arrogant captain of the ferry boat was continuously getting into trouble with his crew. So the owners of the shipping line forced him to see a psychiatrist. As soon as the captain became comfortable on the couch, the psychiatrist began the session by asking the captain, "Why don't you start at the beginning?" The captain said, “Okay. In the beginning I created heaven and the earth...”
Thank you so much for looking and for all the wonderful comments and the fav's on yesterday's picture.
Great shot of on the ferry. When I was working I did sometimes collecting spare parts for the machinery by a breakdown . Often have to go with a ferry to the : overkant ( other side of the river Scheldt ) Now there is a tunnel of 6,6 km . Did like the boat trip better.
