This lady re-enactor looks bored while a parade was taking place at the village square. Here you see the banners of the different Langues of the Order which one by one were taken to bend in front of the banner of the Order in homage and deference to the Order. The event took place in the early afternoon when the sun rays of a hot day are the worst - I was completely exhausted by the time it was over.
For administration purposes the Order was divided in different langues (languages) – there were eight langues and each langues had its responsibilities. You can distinguish here, the flags of at least the English, German and French langues.
Joke: One Sunday morning, a group of three soldiers of the Order re-enactors, in full uniform, were on their way home from an event. They decided to stop at a family-type restaurant for lunch. When they went in, they found that the place was packed with families and the hostess told them there would be a wait. So, they sat down to wait for a table.
After a few minutes, another family came in, consisting of a grandfather, father and mother, and a couple of kids. The mother said to the father, "Go see how long of wait there will be."
As the father went up to the hostess to reserve a table, the grandfather pointed to the three soldiers of the Order and said, "It can't be good. Look how long they've been waiting."
Thank you very much for looking and for the lovely comments on yesterday's picture.
Beautiful as always
Thanks Dionne
