Shots taken on Day 3 – 28th June - of our vacation. Best viewed enlarged.
It all began by the merging of two shots I took of this palace in the centre of Stuttgart, our last stop before taking the long drive back to our guest house – stopping for dinner on the way. Then I decided to play a bit with the merged picture by changing it to a pencil sketch after trying several options. I liked the result. Next day I looked at the shot and decided to change the sky to the original colour. I looked at it again later on and decided it would make a lovely show on an artist’s easel, so I did that. Then I decided to add the artist’s hand (taken on some previous occasion) painting the turf.
The Neues Schloss or New Palace dominates this huge square in Stuttgart. Built in late Baroque style and completed in 1807, the palace - once home to former kings - is now used by the state government.
Joke: Joe, an artist follower of the style of Pablo Picasso surprised a burglar at work in the palace where he worked as a security guard. The intruder got away, but Joe told the police he could do a rough sketch of what he looked like. On the basis of his drawing, the police arrested a mother superior, the minister of finance, a washing machine, and the Eiffel Tower.
Thank you very much for looking and for helping put yesterday's shot on pp and tp. Very much appreciated.
