At last some good fireworks. Best viewed enlarged, if you have time - thank you.
Last week-end San Gwann – the village where I live – celebrated its parish feast dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes. We live on the periphery of the village and our interest in the feast is minimal.
San Gwann is situated on high ground – about 7 km away from the Sliema front. On Friday, before the feast, I checked if the fireworks were visible from the Sliema front. And they did - just above the buildings. So Saturday I took my camera with me ready to take some shots. I didn’t need a tripod – I just rested the camera on one of the bollards that hold the railings.
The fireworks were much more spectacular than those of the previous week-end celebrating the feast of the Balluta church. Will show some more shots tomorrow.
Joke: While sweating it out on a hot night, waiting for the fireworks display, a young boy asked his father: 'Is it true Dad, that in some parts of Africa a man doesn't know his wife until he marries her?'
Dad thought it over a bit and then replied, 'That happens in every country, son.'
Thank you very much for looking and for the lovely comments on yesterday's picture.
