This is the town centre of the little town of Schiltach. The town is so cute with all those half-timbered houses. Now you know why I fell in love with this place. I would have loved to leave out all those cars but whichever angle I chose for my shots they were always there. BTW the man with the camera is Ian, my son-in-law.
Schiltach is part of the German Half-Timbered House Road tourist route. The medieval inner city includes the marketplace (shown here) with the town hall (top photo with a painted façade and two arches) and many half-timber houses scattered throughout the town that date back to anywhere between the 16th and 19th centuries.
Joke: Two labourers, John and Dave, were working on a timber house when John, up on a scaffold accidently cut off his ear.
He yelled down to Dave…” Hey! Look out for my ear, I just cut it off”
A bit later Dave calls up to John, “Is this your ear?”
John looks down and says, “No! Mine had a pencil behind it!”
Many, many thanks for looking and for the lovely comments and the fav's making it possible for the picture to make it to tp and pp. So much appreciated.
I agree with you about the cars but what it does is make it very real as you were there as the scene in front of you! That joke is a bit similar to the Irish one who held up a body after a bomb - no I won't go any further!
Silly joke--made me laugh.
I just repeated the joke to my husband David, it really cracked me up, maybe because he's a builder.
