Shot taken on 4th July, 2015 – the 9th day of our holiday in the Black Forest.
These are four shots from the many I have taken of the gorgeous buildings which can be found in Colmar, the most beautiful of all the places we have visited.
Colmar is the third-largest commune of the Alsace region in north-eastern France. The town is considered to be the "capital of Alsatian wine".
Joke: We were walking the streets of Colmar when we saw a hearse stop at a cemetery close by. We followed and found a sober man and asked who the dead person was. He told us it was an old Parking Officer who was about to retire from the service.
As the coffin was being lowered into the ground we froze. A voice from inside screamed
"I'm not dead, I'm not dead. Let me out!"
The Vicar, with a cool smile, leant forward sucking air through his teeth and muttered
"Too late pal, I've already done the paperwork".
Many thanks for looking and for all the lovely comments and the fav's on yesterday's picture.
Lovely shots of some interesting architecture and a fab montage. The construction of the buildings in the top left photo and the pink colours remind me of some of the old buildings in East Anglia here in England. The darker shade in particular is very like the traditional Suffolk Pink.
Love the architecture - those strong lines in the old buildings are great. Like that you put it together in a collage to really give you a feeling for the town.
Lovely collage, these old buliding have such character, nicely captured.
