Shot taken on 4th July, 2015 – the 9th day of our holiday in the Black Forest.
We took this boat trip around the canals of Colmar. I took as many shots as I could and this is one of them. A lovely trip which took around 30 minutes and worth the money.
This area of Colmar is called Little Venice. It is a quaint part of the old town, where fishmongers, leather tanners, and other merchants lived and worked. The canals are fed by the River Lauch.
Joke: A group of boys from a small village were taken on holiday and on a tour of this beautiful medieval town. The headmistress decided that the children should be taken to explore the canals around the town. The new teacher who was in charge of ten young boys stood up on the boat trying to make use of her psychology courses.
She started by saying, "Everyone who thinks you're stupid, stand up!"
After a few seconds, Little Johnny stood up.
The teacher said, "Do you think you're stupid, Little Johnny?"
"No, ma'am, but I hate to see you standing there all by yourself!"
