These are some of the shots I managed to take with my Panasonic FZ45 camera during the match which Malta lost by a single goal to Croatia last Tuesday. The game was beautiful, hard-fought by both sides – Croatia needed a win to pass to the finals while Malta wanted to improve its rating. I think that notwithstanding the defeat, Malta did just that - the Maltese team played as good as the Croatian. This is said, keeping in mind that Croatia has some world class players while, apart for a few who play abroad, most of the Maltese players are semi-professionals and also that Malta’s attacks were as dangerous as those of their opponents.
Top shots: Left – line up for the national anthems; middle – taking photos; right – the players of both teams merge for a photo. On the even there was a shuffle between Croatian supporters and Serbs living in Malta and a lot of damage was caused.

Joke: A man joins a soccer team and his new teammates inform him, "At your first team dinner as the new guy, you will have to give us a talk about sex." The evening arrives and he gives a detailed, humorous account of his sex life. When he got home, his wife asked how the evening went and not wanting to lie, but also not wanting to explain exactly what happened, he said, "Oh, I had to make a talk about yachting," his wife thought this a little peculiar but said nothing more and went to sleep. The next day she bumped into one of his new teammates at the supermarket and asked, "I heard my husband had to make a speech last night. How did it go?" His mate said smiling, 'Oh, it was excellent! Your husband is clearly very experienced!." The wife looked confused and replied to his mate, "Strange, he has only done it twice and the second time he was sick."

When I was younger, the Saturday newspaper would have a competition where there would be a picture of a football match with the ball removed. You could pay a small amount to enter, and the person whose guess was closest to where the ball really was in the picture would win lots of money. (Needless to say, that was before internet, action replays etc...)
Great collage- I can't enlarge the collage by much, but I think I can see the ball in the two left-hand pictures. In the middle one, the goalie has it. In the lower left hand corner there are two players just outside the box battling for it in the air. Oh, and I just figured out the lower right hand shot- the ball is in the air from a corner kick. At first I thought it was a ball that was out of bounds- silly me- they wouldn't leave a ball sitting on the sideline like that!
