I composed this shot in memory of my dad.
30th October, 2015 – my dad would be 100 years old today. Sadly he passed peacefully away on 2nd October, 2011, 3 weeks before his 96th birthday. He died while I was holidaying in Wales and his death has created a void which cannot be filled. He was a very quiet and peace-loving man and wouldn’t hurt even a fly. My mum – who was the driving force in the family - had been dead for 8 years by then. Rest in peace both.
This is one of the last photos I took of him when his grandson who lives in Australia was in Malta with his new born son, Marley. Here my dad is holding his last great grandson when my nephew took Marley to see him. I added the black background and the flower (hibiscus).
Joke: A man placed some flowers on the grave of his dearly departed mother and started
back toward his car when his attention was diverted to another man kneeling at a
grave.
The man seemed to be praying with profound intensity and kept repeating, Why did
you have to die? Why did you have to die?"
The first man approached him and said, "Sir, I don't wish to interfere with your
private grief, but this demonstration of pain is more than I've ever seen
before. For whom do you mourn so deeply? A child? A parent?"
The mourner took a moment to collect himself, then replied,
"My wife's first husband."
Thank you very much for looking and for the lovely comments and the fav's on yesterday's shot putting it on tp and pp - two in a row. You are all so very kind.
Beautiful tribute. It is clearly visible he was a great part of the family and those members always leave a big void when they leave, So sorry for your loss. Loved the joke as usual
